Facility: LA RONGE SITE
Job Description: This position will provide Child & Youth Services in the Mamawetan Churchill River Health Region at our Youth Services office. This position will develop and provide a  child and youth outreach program as well as provide a coordinating/consultation function to schools and other youth oriented services in the La Ronge area. Clinical supervision will be provided by the Clinical Supervisor for Mental Health & Addictions.
Education:
    Bachelors degree in Social Work is required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    Knowledgeable and skilled in evidence-supported Western conventional as well as effective traditional and cultural approaches  to mental health and wellness in Aboriginal children, youth and their families.
    Ability to work in a cross-cultural setting is a definite asset.
    Ability to speak Cree would be an asset.
    Knowledge of human development and family dynamics relating to family violence, trauma, addiction and poverty is essential.
    Specific understanding of child and youth mental health issues is required.
    A wide range of counselling skills are required in working with children, youth and their families.
    Knowledge of crisis intervention strategies.
    Knowledge of child and youth treatment programming is required as well as the skill to develop/evaluate these programs consistent with latest research (Best Practices).
    Knowledge of mental health treatment resources  and the skills to make appropriate assessments and referrals.
    A willingness to integrated child and youth mental health programming at a community level utilizing a variety of community partners.
