The Indigenous Gallery Education Intern is a new internship position designed to support the MAG in maintaining and increasing opportunities for Indigenous engagement, content, and culturally relevant learning strategies in our public programs which serve over 3,800 participants annually.
Term: This internship position begins on Oct. 2, 2017 and ends on Mar. 23, 2018. The work week typically runs from Monday - Friday. Some evening and weekend work will occasionally be required but will be scheduled well in advance. Specific days and hours are negotiable, but it is a 35-hour week. Candidate restrictions apply for this Young Canada Works internship and are listed below. Wage: $16.00/hour
Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate self-identifies as Indigenous, ideally from one of the Nations in the north-central SK/Treaty 6 territory area: Cree, Dene, Dakota/Lakota/Nakota, Mtis. French, Cree, and/or Dene language skills would be ideal but are not required. The ideal candidate has experience working with Elders, traditional knowledge keepers, and Indigenous groups in urban and rural environments.
