Responsibilities:
The Quality Control Person is responsible for the sampling and testing of aggregates to ensure the final product meets required specifications.
Safety:
Ensure a safe and harassment free workplace and maintain safety policies.
Maintains a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.
Know and comply with the safety program, Saskatchewan Employment Act and OH&S legislation.
Protect themselves and others affected by their actions.
Use safe work practices/procedures, safeguards and PPE.
Report hazards and safety concerns to the supervisor immediately
Operations:
Testing of aggregates to ensure product quality.
Conducting tests in compliance with prevailing standards and procedures.
Examine the sample provided and write any discrepancy on the test report.
Sample reception and logging.
See that samples are registered in the record concerned.
Ensure that measuring equipment is calibrated.
Data management and reporting of results.
Notify their supervisor of product quality problems.
This position requires a significant amount of weekend work and possible night work. The position often requires overtime and can be seasonal in nature. Summer is the busiest time for this position.
Please note that you may be required at times to perform other work duties outside your scope of work and/or perform work at other plants or locations depending on staffing requirements.
Please note that this job does require heavy lifting.
QUALITY CONTROL PERSON JOB EXPECTATIONS
Each Quality Control Person will be expected to perform the following administrative duties as part of day to day operations:
1. Attend/Participate in weekly tool box meeting
2. Daily completion of FLRA
3. Daily completion of Quality Control tracking spreadsheet
4. Completion of Accident/Near Miss reports (as required)
