Job Description: The Primary Care RN (NP) is an advanced practice nurse with knowledge and skills gained through additional education and experience. The Nurse Practitioner blends an in-depth knowledge of nursing with their legal authority and autonomy to order diagnostic tests, prescribe pharmaceuticals and perform specific procedures in the management and treatment of common acute illnesses and stable chronic conditions. The Primary Care RN(NP) practices within a framework of evidence-based interventions, wholism, health promotion, and disease and injury prevention. The practice involves working within the Mamawetan Churchill River Regional Health Authority nursing program objectives, guidelines, and policies and procedures; building partnerships, completing community needs assessments; supporting inter-professional collaboration; and participating in continuous improvements through evaluative processes/projects.
Education:
    Must be registered with the SRNA and licensed as RN(NP)
    Masters Degree in Nursing preferred

    Demonstrates ability to implement holistic, comprehensive care to individuals, groups, families and the community
    Demonstrates clinical/health assessment, diagnostic, pharmacotherapeutics and therapeutic intervention skills working to the scope of practice of the RN(NP) role
    Demonstrates communication skills, both verbal and nonverbal, that creates positive outcomes, builds relationships, and supports the change process.
    Demonstrates leadership, confidence and autonomy in the RN (NP) role.
    Demonstrates organizational capacity to plan, implement and evaluate multiple assessments, projects and deadlines at the individual, group and community levels.
