Description

The Yorkton Tribal Council is seeking 1  individual for the position of Diabetes Nurse Educator.
Duties:
Travel daily to member communities
Team planning/preparing/delivering reporting, administering & evaluating activities
Deliver/implement educational workshops to Communities/counsel clients/support clients
Plan and deliver prevention workshops
Conduct foot care clinics
Attend education sessions to maintain clinical experience & competence
Represent YTC on health committees.
Conduct supportive measures to clients as needed
Identify appropriate resources available for training/skill development & enhancements
Qualifications:
Must have a Degree or Bachelor Degree in Nursing,RN/BN & advanced diabetes education.
Have daily contact with internal YTC and Health staff
Will liaise with communities & health care professionals relating to health & initiatives
Contact with YTC member communities
Travel to Communities in all weather conditions while ensuring personal safety
Work irregular or extended hours to complete special requests/projects
Must manage a number of people/priorities/projects at one time & may have to respond to emergency or crisis situations
The environment requires excellent organizational/time management/stress management skills
At times, may be required to carry out assigned roles and responsibilities as relevant to operational requirments
Required to manage a number of priorities at one time
Must be aware of all YTC health programming along with relevant legislation/policies/procedures
Must be willing to travel and must possess a valid drivers license and reliable vehicle.
