The MLTC Department of Education is seeking an individual for the position of Math Coordinator. The successful candidate will work as part of the MLTC Education Team & will report directly to the MLTC Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment. The Math Coordinator shall be responsible for ensuring that the MLTC math programs adhere to the approved Saskatchewan curriculum & will establish a liaison with the Sask. Ministry of Education. They will provide leadership & support for the K-12 math programs with emphasis on delivering a Math Program in ML First Nation Schools intent on increasing the student's math levels to grade appropriate levels.
Duties: Provide consulting services to Mathematics teachers within MLFN schools. Recommend & facilitate professional development activities for the 9 First Nations math teachers in all grade levels
-Aquiring professional resources for MLTC Office of Ed. & for MLFN school mathematics program as required & with budetary parameters. Assisting with the development & implementation of MLTC Office of Ed. programs & initiatives
-Implementing best practices of teacher/catalyst improvement to assist all MLFM teachers & catalysts in improving their quality of instruction & assessment. Including, but not limited to team teaching, modeling, one-on-one in class support & assistance with lesson development
-Collaborating with internal & external partners, such as FSIN, Ministry of Education, MLTC Health, Justice, etc.

Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree in Education; Master's Degree or commitment to begin studies appropriate to the Math field in Education
-Minimum 5 years of teaching ecperiencein the K-12 classroom setting
-Saskatchewan Teachers 'A' Certification or the ability to obtain such standing
-Willing to travel to the First Nation Communities; work within a team setting & independently
