Description

MLTC seeking dynamic individual for Educational Psychologist for Office of Education. Candidate will work closely with & form an integral part of the MLTC Student Services team while focusing on collaboration & consultation w/t 9 schools in providing supports & programming
**NOTE: If you are interested but cannot commit to full time employment, we are prepared to offer on a short term contract arrangement.
Duties: Provide assessment & program recommendations for students who have been referred for academic &/ behavioural reasons
- Maintains up to date confidential file on child served. Coordinator of Student Services will generate such files
- Consultations for parents/administrators/teachers/support staff regarding assessment recommendations
- Act as in-service resource for teachers as required (& approved) within areas of expertise
- Recommend suitable materials to schools & parents for use with students as determined by assessed need
- Provides followup to recommendations made & provides additional support
- Assists administrators & teachers with understanding of reports of other agencies upon request
- Recommends to the Superintendent of Education changes within delivery of Educational Psychology services
- Assist school personnel with the development of behaviour management plans for students when requested
- Attends in-service & professional development/learning authorized by Director or Superintendent of Education
Qualifications: Master's Degree Psychology or Educational Psychology; Professional Teacher's Certificate
- Registered w/t College of Psychologists & licensed w/t the Sask College of Psychologists
- Specialized training in assessment for special needs students
- Travel extensively to First Nation Communities w/t possible overnights; team setting & independently
- Communication skills; decision making skills; professional judgment skills: & organizational/time-management skills
