Description

The Employment Specialist provides support to both the Employer and the Job Seeker to ensure successful employment retention.
Duties include:
-  Assist youth and adults with employment barriers in preparing for, obtaining, and maintaining competitive employment
-  Assist clients with resume development, interview techniques, job search and on the job skills
-  Plan and facilitate employment related workshops
-  Engage and recruit employers
-  Attend networking events
-  Conduct workplace and job analysis functions
-  Develop job placements by assessing community needs and working with businesses in Swift Current for the purpose of creating job opportunities.
-  Provide on the job support
-  Develop and maintain positive working relationships with employers and community support agencies
-  Perform administrative duties
-  Uphold mission, vision, and values of the Saskatchewan Abilities Council.
Qualifications:
Education:
-  Bachelors degree in the human service field or equivalent professional designation obtained through post secondary & a minimum of 2 years related experience.
-  Valid Class 5 drivers licence and working vehicle.
Skills:
-  Well-developed interpersonal skills to work effectively and cooperatively with job seekers, employers, referral agents, colleagues and public contacts.
-  Effective time management, problem solving and organizational skills.
-  Knowledge and understanding of issues pertaining to education, training and employment that people with disabilities may encounter
-  Knowledge of community resources

The final candidates are required to provide a satisfactory Criminal and Vulnerable Sector record check.
Successful candidates are recommended to have an Auto Pak with at least 1 million dollars in liability insurance.
