The City of Weyburn is a dynamic and progressive municipality located in the heart of Southeast Saskatchewan. The City has a population of over 10,500 and a solid economic and community foundation upon which new opportunities are continuously built.

The City of Weyburn is currently accepting applications for Finance Manager. This permanent full time position is an integral component of our Finance Team. If you are an enthusiastic team player looking to work in a progressive Municipal environment, then we invite you to apply for this exciting opportunity.

Main responsibilities include:
- Supervise accounting within the finance department including accounts payable, receivable, utilities, taxation and general ledger functions;
- Prepare financial reports for Senior Management, City Manager and City Council;
- Maintain the yearly budget and provide timely comparison reports.

The successful candidate will possess:
- Bachelor?s Degree in Commerce or Business Administration with a major in Accounting;
- 3-5 years of accounting and/or audit experience;
- Comprehensive knowledge of accounting and financial reporting standards in accordance with Canadian public sector accounting standards;
- Computer software application knowledge with high keyboarding efficiency;
- Computer software experience with Microsoft Office;
- Well organized and able to prioritize tasks in a deadline-orientated position;
- Team player with excellent communication and customer service skills;
- Strong analytical and problem solving abilities;
- Diffuse a positive attitude in a team work environment (an important part of being part of the Finance Team);
- Able to resolve problems with several variables in a dynamic setting.

Preference will be given to those candidates who have:
- CPA CMA or CPA CGA designation;
- Certification with the Local Government Administration (LGA);
- Computer software experience with Vadim Accounting Software;
- Municipal government administrative experience
