Description

Responsibilities:

Working with key stakeholders, sponsors and project team members, this position will be responsible for managing IT projects of varying degrees of complexity, risk and scope. The IT Project Manager is responsible for managing IT projects throughout the project lifecycle stages of initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling and closing, while adhering to IT project management standards, processes and best practices. The position contributes to the enhancement and maturity of project management services within ITS by continuously promoting the project management body of knowledge, and project management standards and best practices.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum two year diploma from a recognized institution in Information Technology or Business Administration (foreign education must have Canadian equivalency certification) or an equivalent combination of recent and relevant education, training and experience.
2. Five years of progressive experience in a project manager or business analyst role within an enterprise information technology environment.
3. Demonstrated business analysis and project management experience, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business unit needs, translate that into application and operational requirements and prepare technology proposals for clients.
4. Effective analytical, problem solving and decision making skills.
5. Effective interpersonal communication and facilitation skills.
