Early Childhood Educator is responsible for children in all aspects of development and address the components of the Head Start Program including: education, nutrition, health & safety, language & culture, social & parental involvement.
The ECE will plan and apply the curriculum in a safe nurturing, stimulating and culturally relevant environment. Caring for children can be physically demanding, The ECE may be lifting and carrying children and equipment, and may spend time sitting on the floor or child sized furniture. The Early Childhood Educator will be expected to clean and maintain equipment and facility. Some Daycare Experience. The ECE may come in contact with children who are ill and/or contagious, and must take precautions to ensure the health and safety of all children, parents, staff and themselves. The ECE must ensure that the children are supervised at all times, and that children are involved in safe and appropriate activities. There may be a number of situations happening at once, and the ECE must be prepared to handle accidents and emergencies at any time.
Must have a Grade 12, Level Three Early Childhood Education Diploma, previous experience/training working with children, fluent in an Aboriginal language would be an assets.
