The Catering Manager is an energetic, firm, fair and flexible leader who supervises, co-ordinates, directs and administers all of the phases related to the smooth and profitable operation of the catering department.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Takes responsibility to generate revenue for the Catering Department.
Implements industry best practice for maximum profitability for the Hotel operation.
Communicates effectively with the General Manager, Sales Manager and Food & Beverage Manager for exemplary product or service delivery
Understands the marketing plan and catering operating budget and strives to meet and exceed forecasted standards
Is visible and accessible to clients and associates
Works with the management team to develop service and profit oriented goals for the hotel
Uses time efficiently, organizes catering staff schedule
Is familiar with the facilities, rates and menus of the competitors
Is neat in appearance, demeanour and sets an example for the employees and a standard for the image of the hotel
QUALIFICATIONS:
Advanced knowledge of industry best practice in Catering Sales
5 years of sales experience in hospitality industry
Experience in catering department
Post-secondary education in sales or equivalent
Computer literacy (excel, word, group booking systems, internet, email etc.)
Highly energetic, aggressive self-starter
Strong organization skills and detail oriented
