We are looking for a full-time temporary (14 month term) Safety Coordinator to join our team. This position will also manage health and safety functions for Armour Steel Fabricators.
Complimenting our machine shop facility, Ross Machine Shop specializes in industrial repairs and participates in off site plant maintenance programs.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Safety Coordinator will develop, administer, review and implement companywide health and safety programs that meet or exceed current legislated requirements.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and enforce Health & Safety policies and procedures
- Develop Safe Work Practices
- Ensure compliance with OH&S legislation
- Liaise with and report to official regulatory bodies on OH&S matters
- Conduct inspections of the workplace ensuring safety standards are met and being enforced consistently
- Manage investigation and reporting of work related safety incidents and hazard assessments
- WCB claim investigation, management and RTW program
- Supervise on customer sites for safety issues
- Maintain employee certifications and customer specific training
- Sit on OH&S Committee
- Monthly reporting
- Maintain & Audit COR
- Maintain Audiometric, Respirator Fit Testing & Fall Protection Inspections
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience as a safety coordinator or similar
- In-depth knowledge of OH&S act and regulations
- Experience in reporting, investigating and developing policies
- Experience in implementing training programs
- Excellent communication and advisory skills
- SCOT & WHMIS certification
- OHSC Level 1 & 2
- Proficient in MS Office
- Must have a valid drivers license
