Description

The Ministry of Environment is seeking a proactive, knowledgeable, and analytical individual with experience in policy analysis for the role of Senior Climate Change Policy Analyst. Reporting to the Manager, Climate Change Policy, this position will aid in the development and implementation of the provincial climate change strategy.

Duties will include the research and analysis of various policy and program options, communication of complex economic and regulatory concepts in simple language to various audiences and stakeholders, providing policy and strategic recommendations to senior management and Cabinet, and responding to requests for information on short time frames. This position is responsible for helping develop communications positioning and strategic considerations within the policy development process, and identifying and analyzing potential emerging issues that could affect the provincial climate change strategy.

The ability to clearly communicate complex issues both verbally and in writing is critical for success in this role. The ideal candidate will also have highly developed research and analysis capabilities that will allow for critical evaluation of relevant data and its impact on provincial policy.
