Description

Role:
This position is responsible for the daily routing function with the goal of consistent, on time delivery in the most cost effective manner possible. Responsible for maintaining the efficiency of the delivery routes. Works closely with a team consisting of Operations Associates, Delivery Associates, and Sales Associates to solve delivery and customer service issues. This position works 39 hours per week from Sunday to Thursday beginning at noon each day.
Role Responsibilities:
-Plans the delivery route to be taken by each driver in the delivery of goods and products to our customers in the most efficient way possible;
-Prepares loading and driver sheets showing the route assigned and ensures that each driver is provided an accurate and understandable listing of stops;
-Prepares specific request notes identifying particular loading and delivery activities as desired by customers or warranted by the delivery schedule in an effort to enhance the effectiveness of the delivery activity;
-Utilizes various software (Roadnet, SWMS, SLS) for routing deliveries, trailer loading, order generation, and trailer mapping;
-Identifies opportunities for increased efficiencies in routing, the loading/mapping process, and for providing better customer service;
-Maximize pieces per truck for cutting cost from the budget;
-Analyzes data to improve designated delivery day and green routing;
-Addresses concerns from internal customers on routing, order generation, sequencing, isolation, time window and/or start times;
-Interacts with sales, customers, and drivers to resolve problems, improve service, and increase efficiency;
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements:
-High School diploma or GED required;
-Post-secondary education in logistics or operations is preferred;
