Are you interested in joining an energetic team, working towards engaging youth in sport and recreation opportunities? We are seeking a reliable, energetic, sports minded person to join our team.
Responsibilities
Administration and development of sports leagues in the community
Maintaining an inclusive environment for all participants
Assisting with the day to day operations of the sport equipment lending library
Participation in community events
Community and volunteer engagement
Fostering community partnerships
Qualifications
Education
Have or working towards a Kinesiology Degree, specializing in Adapted Physical Activity Studies and/or Recreation Technology Diploma and/or Educational Assistant Diploma and experience with children with mental health disorders an asset. Bachelor of Social Work, Criminal Justice, Sports Administration, Education Degree, and Bachelor of Arts will all be considered.
Requirements
The successful applicant will be required to work some evenings and weekends dependent on the needs of the programs. These hours will vary from season to season and as the needs of the programs change.
Experience
Minimum of 1-3 years of related to youth education, working with youth, special education, and/or residential or youth care experience.
Experience working and implementing programming in the community
Coaching experience is an asset
Working Knowledge
An understanding of risk factors which may impact children and families.
The ability to work independently, and work collaboratively.
