Our client, a well-respected local (Saskatoon, SK) "high end" home builder is searching for a Full Time, Permanent Architectural / Design Technician, to join their team and lead the design and construction of high quality homes in Saskatoon and adjacent communities.
The role of the Architectural Technologist is to perform design services with our client. In this position the successful candidate will spend the majority of their time creating drawings, interfacing with suppliers, detailing exteriors, creating construction details, reviewing shop drawings for conformance to the design and leading the construction team to ensure that the specifications and drawings are followed on site.
The role will also include specification writing and meetings with clients to confirm selections.
Specifically this position will:
provide architectural design services by detailing exterior elevations, selecting appropriate materials and drawing assembly and construction details
apply for and facilitate permits and approvals
act as a technical resource by trouble shooting and resolving issues prior to construction in collaboration with Engineers and other professionals if required
detail building envelope best practices and standards
review electrical, mechanical and technology drawings to resolve architectural and interior design coordination and interference issues
provide project close out and best practice management through as built drawings and maintenance of construction standards
facilitate construction by issuing packages. reviewing and approving supplier shop drawings, writing specifications, producing field drawings, providing framing details
model and render design ideas to facilitate client understanding and approval
