Job Description: Reporting to the Vice President of Clinical Services, the Patient Flow Manager is a crucial member of the nursing leadership group at the Dr F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital. This position is a 24/7 management position working with the nursing leadership team during business hours, and autonomously after-hours. Individuals in this role have the unique opportunity to interact with patients and maintain nursing skills while fulfilling a leadership role.
This dynamic leader oversees the day-to-day patient flow and is responsible for effective utilization of resources across the facility. In addition, he/she oversees the movement of patients throughout the continuum of services in FHHR and other regions where appropriate. Acting as management's on-site designate after-hours, the patient flow manager's primary objectives are to ensure the delivery of safe patient care, and to provide guidance to the nursing staff.
The region has gained the attention of the province and areas throughout the country with our new Patient-Centered facility, Dr. F. H. Wigmore Regional Hospital, where this position is located. This state of the art hospital is the first of its kind in Canada to be designed completely based on Lean principles and processes.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Nursing
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA)
3-5 years nursing experience required
Critical Care experience would be considered an asset.
Other Information
Knowledge of lean processes would be considered an asset
