The Department of Engineering Services is currently seeking a temporary full-time General Utility Worker to operate a variety of small equipment as related to the maintenance of streets and roads including, but not limited to, work related with steam boilers, traffic line marking, oiling program, traffic sign maintenance, storm sewer maintenance and general repair of City streets and lanes. This position also involves supervising staff engaged in similar work and is subject to adjustable days/hours of work depending upon the season. If you have the following qualifications, this opportunity will be of interest to you:
- Class 1A driver's license
- 20 hours of basic training in welding from a recognized technical institute
- Fireman's Certificate
- Front End Loader Operator Certificate
- Flagmen's Instructor Certificate
- First Aid and CPR training
- Knowledge and understanding of the OHS Act and Regulations
- Effective interpersonal skills
