Description

The Western College of Veterinary Medicine seeks applications for a 12 month term (with possibility of extension), full time (willing to consider part-time) Clinical Associate in the Small Animal Wellness & Preventative Medicine service beginning January 1, 2018.  
Responsibilities: Provision of quality wellness and preventative care services to client owned cats and dogs in the VMC; commitment to growth and evolution of the Wellness service to provide a strong foundation in wellness and preventative medicine for senior veterinary students; commitment to team-driven service delivery with other Wellness veterinarians and RVT; fostering a collaborative, multidisciplinary collegial approach to case management within the complex environment of the VMC.  
Qualifications: DVM (or equivalent); eligible for licensure within the province of Saskatchewan; clinical experience in private practice or academic primary care setting.
Required Skills: Strong skills in thorough history and physical examination; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; dedication to and excellence in clinical teaching; initiative and effective leadership in maintaining a successful, team-oriented Wellness service; ability to mentor students in their development of efficient practice; effective time management and strong organization skills.
Salary range: $61,618 to $96,279; salary will be commensurate with education and experience.  Comprehensive benefits package includes pension plan, life insurance (compulsory and voluntary), sick leave, travel insurance, death benefit, dental plan, extended health and vision care plan, employee assistance program and flexible health and wellness spending program.
