Position
South East Construction L.P. is looking for an experienced Safety Advisor. Reporting to the Site Supervisor and Corporate Safety Manager daily. The Safety Advisor will be assigned to projects in an industrial setting based in the Jansen area.
To adhere to the CORE Safety Policies and Procedures as well as the specific Client'ss Health and Safety management plan and all other applicable legislation;
To promote an injury free, safe and healthy workplace through hazard identification and control, by implementing best practice health and safety standards;
Communicate with clients and SEC Management;
Complete and submit all required safety deliverable documentation, including safety statistics;
Conduct site inspections, note safety concerns and communicate with site supervision to implement a safe resolution;
Manage the overall site-specific safety management plan for the project;
Conduct safety orientations as well maintain all site training matrix;
Ensures corrective actions are executed and maintained in the work place;
Attend and participate in safety meetings, toolbox meetings.
Education and Skills Required
Must possess a safety officer designation or degree;
Minimum 3 years experience in Industrial Construction field or project work;
Good knowledge of heavy equipment;
Must be energetic, self-motivated, work with minimal supervision and be a versatile problem solver in workplace safety;
Strong written, verbal and organizational skills.
Shifts are: 8 days on and 6 days off with contract for approximately 18 months
