Description

The primary responsibilities of the Fire & Life Service Technician will include the installation, repair & maintenance on all Vehicle Fire Suppression Systems within the region. This position will be based out of the Regina location but will also involve remote service at additional customer locations.  The ideal candidate will have current CFAA registration.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
VFSS Scheduled maintenance, inspection, repairs & installs
Inspection, Maintenance & service of Fire Extinguishers & Equipment including Stored Pressure & Cartridge Operated Fire Extinguishers(Portable & Wheeled)
Provide in shop & mobile service work on customer sites.
Hydro testing of Fire Extinguishers.
Maintain service vehicle inventory & all required tools
Complete accurate & timely completion of service paperwork to facilitate prompt billing, certification(s)of equipment, expenses & other required paperwork including H&S Paperwork associated with company policies & ISO procedures
Be an ongoing contributor to the development of JHAs (Job Hazard Assessments) & Safe Work Practices relevant to the position
Perform after hours & on call duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
Grade 12 or equivalent
3 to 5 years Industry experience preferred.
Previous mechanical experience ideally in a shop environment
Basic Electrical Knowledge
Certified in inspection & testing of hand portable fire extinguishers is ideal.
Good oral/written communications/Good computer skills
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Must be able to work out of town as required for extended and overnight stays

Physical requirements are: Good hand/eye coordination, manual dexterity & the ability to lift & carry 50lbs. Must be comfortable working in restricted work spaces & from ladders & walkways on large equipment.  Must be comfortable working on equipment in underground mines as needed.
