Description

This position will oversee the various health & social programs and will be responsible for the delivery of these programs, including NCBR, ESD, and Brighter Futures. The HSO will ensure that decisions and actions meet the relevant legislation, policies and procedures. He/she is responsible for the financial transactions, budgets, work plans, programs and services, and program reporting. The HSO will act as liaison between other HSOs, government agencies and departments.  The HSO must provide records to the Band and relevant agencies, and ensure that business and operations are conducted in a responsible, confidential and ethical way. Demonstrate knowledge of the administrative procedures of community based social services and health programs; community resources; the social issues which require the use of community resources; basic principles of individual and group behaviour; current issues and trends in the field of social services and health programing.  Develop proposals for community based services and programs as the need is identified. Demonstrate the ability to respond supportively to people from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds; develop, utilize, and coordinate departmental and community resources to meet clients needs; communicate effectively; and apply laws and regulations which relate to social service and health programs; maintain good working relationships with other service providers and co-workers.  Demonstrate the ability to case management clients utilizing various case management techniques and collaborate with various agencies to develop client case plans and programming.  The ideal candidate will have a university degree in Social Work or Business Administration with two (2) years of progressive experience in Social /Health Services.  A combination of post-secondary education and experience will be considered.  Possess a Valid Class 5 Drivers License
