Experience
Master's Degree in Nursing with Management /Leadership training with 3 years of experience in managing health care facility is desirable.
Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, with a minimum of five years experience in health care management and/or nursing leadership.
Minimum of five years experience as a nurse within an ER & acute care /LTC environment.
Experience working in a unionized environment including the administration of Collective Bargaining Agreements.
Current registration in good standing with SRNA

KNOWLEDGE:

Professional Knowledge of health care administration; program planning; policy development and evaluation; accreditation standards; relative
legislation and health care delivery system; Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement initiatives; research and evidence based practice in
enhancing quality of services provided to residents.
Union environment /Collective Agreement administration.

ABILITIES:

Work with health care professionals. Support staff, inter-sectorial groups, general public, associations, government and other agencies in a
management capacity.
Understand the nursing process, models of nursing care, and principles of adult learning.
Strong leadership qualities and conflict resolution skills.
Requires energy, objectiveness and critical and creative thinking.
Interpersonal skills in dealing with a myriad of professionals, support staff, clients, families and community members.
Work effectively independently.
Manage multiple project and work well under pressures.
Excellent communication skills (written, oral & computer skills)
Tolerance and endurance and maintains good physical health.
Research skills in ensuring evidence based practice in the provision of patient first and family centered services to clients and community.
Skill in staff scheduling.
