Carrier Forest Products Ltd. in Big River, SK is searching for a Quality Control Measurement Technician.
THE QUALIFICATIONS:
The Measurement Technician will be a detail oriented individual with a proactive attitude. They will have the ability to work well with others at all levels and should be a motivated self-starter. They will need to seek solutions, take initiative and respond to change. The individual should be willing to look at and handle real/practical problems, as well as computer programs and simulations. This is a physical job, working in mill, office, and outdoor environments.
The following qualifications are preferred:
Skilled with relevant Microsoft Suite programs (Excel, Word, Access)
Minimum 2 years experience in a mill (or similar) setting
Technically capable with some mechanical, electrical, or process experience
lumber grading ticket preferred
THE DUTIES:
Daily product quality assessments
Regular presence on the production shift looking for process opportunities
Frequent data analysis and recommendations, including simulations and tests for improving the product, yield or value created
Weekend inventory counts when required
