The design engineer will be involved in all facets of the product lifecycle, with a focus on production released components. You will work with all departments at Vaderstad Industries to continuously improve our product lines and exceed customer expectations. You must be an open communicator that is willing to continuously learn new skills and apply them without supervision.
Who are you?
Hold Engineer-in-training status with the ability to become a P. Eng in Saskatchewan or hold an Engineering Technologist diploma and have a minimum of 2 years experience with a focus in Agricultural or Mechanical engineering Experienced with Autodesk Inventor or equivalent CAD system
Hold knowledge and interest in current farming practices and equipment
Mechanically inclined and understand current metal and plastic fabrication techniques
Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
Work well individually and as part of a team
Self-starter
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Be confident, imaginative and desire to learn continuously
Easily adaptable to new situations
Able to think critically and analytically
Continuously strive to create the highest quality product
Familiar with industry standards
Be fluent in English
Responsibilities
Using the change management process create and maintain computer models and drawings of equipment components for all Vaderstad Industries product lines
Complete design analyses and design refinement
Write and follow through with testing reports
Communicate with all internal Vaderstad Industries departments as well as outside vendors and customers to create design solutions
Identify areas to improve quality, cost and equipment features
Follow internal standards and policies
Regular job training
Maintain membership to APEGS or SASTT
