Job Description: The ECT and Ketamine recovery nurse will provide care that is holistic, solution focused and encompasses the following dimensions: psychological, physiological, developmental, socio-cultural and spiritual.


Required Qualifications

Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Nursing
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA)
Experience
*Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a nurse in a Mental Health environment
*Minimum of one (1) year of perianesthesia nursing experience


Hours of work:
Monday - Friday (excluding stat holidays)
06:30-10:30
59.73 hours of work in 4 weeks rotation.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Case Management principles:
a.Uses a patient-centered approach
b.Collaborates with the patient and team to meet patient outcomes
c.Ensures individualized plan of care
d.Consults with team members as necessary
e.Utilizes initiative and autonomy within the team to make decisions with the patient

Quality improvement:
-Participates in role surveys and promotes patient satisfaction surveys.
-Reports injury/unusual occurrences utilizing appropriate reporting forms and methods


Work relationships:
-Presents a high level of professional conduct at all times
-Is receptive to change
-Practices a solution focused approach to needed work situations
-Provides leadership and mentorship to novice nurses

Team orientation:
Communicates concerns to team members working in each program, clinic and group.  Also communicates concerns to Physicians, Pharmacists, Lab, Case management nurses, Community health nurses.
-Provides clinical expertise and leadership to teams working in the ECT and Ketamine programs.
-Interacts with team members with tact, respect and consideration.
