Recovery Support worker
The Recovery Support worker provides informal support to clients during evening and weekend hours, prior to clients quiet/leisure time. S/he will check in with all clients on a regular basis.Must be available to work evenings and weekends.
Key responsibilities of the position include:
Answer phones and track messages as appropriate; contact on-site counsellor if emergency
Complete client orientations when required
General supervision of clients. Keeping track of client activities, making any special notes or safety concerns on communication board and shift log. Counsellors use the communication board/shift log each morning to understand any outstanding concerns with clients that may need to be addressed
Develop personal relationship and maintain a positive presence for all clients
Monitor all clients to ensure they are eating
Distribute and administer previously assembled client medications as required
Resolve client conflicts as necessary
Monitor that clients are following the house rules
Check visitor bags and ensure no inappropriate materials enter the facility
Strictly adhere to confidentiality protocols
Other tasks as required
