POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Family Support Worker ensures that all cases assigned are dealt with in a professional, effective and efficient manner.  Provides counseling and support services to individuals and families to help resource child and family concerns that will facilitate the return of the child to the home. He/She co-ordinates, with the FSH Caregiver, health, education, social assistance or other community, access to services for each FSH Placement. Reports and records complaints or allegations of child neglect child abuses or situations where the child in care may need protection or removal from FSH.  He/She monitors all Family Support Homes, coordinate and deliver FSH training as required, develop and maintain all files on all available foster homes, Foster Care Files and FSH files.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
-    Certificate in Social Work, Practitioners Training and/or related
Fields or suitable combination of education, training and experience
-    Minimum 2 years experience in the area of child care
-    Knowledge of Indian Child Care Issues
-    Knowledgeable in addictions, domestic and family violence
-    Valid driver's license and access to a dependable vehicle
-    Knowledge of Cree language and culture would be an asset
-    Ability to promote community wellness
