-Ensure a six-week notice is given to management staff of pending probation expiration dates so evaluations may be completed before hand
-Complete Records of Employment when an employee is no longer employed with the Agency
-Maintain accurate employee records regarding leaves, holidays, increments etc
-Review applications forms and develop job descriptions, advertisements etc
-Advise the Board of Directors of any required policy changes to ensure the effectiveness of Personnel
-Maintain positive employee relations, services and counselling
-Ensure training and development opportunities are available to employees to enhance their work performance as they work to achieve the organizations objectives
-Revise forms pertaining to Human Resources to ensure accurate information and efficiency
-Meet with management when requested to review salaries
-Work with departments, increasingly in a consultancy role, assisting line managers in understanding and implementing policies and procedures
-Foster effective methods of goal setting, communication and empowerment through responsibility that creates employee ownership of the organization
-Help establish the organizational culture and climate to increase commitment, concern and competency in providing a quality services to clients
-Obtain authorization before financial transactions are completed and processed
-Produce a monthly report for the Board of Directors
-Provide any required motions concerning Human Resources to be prepared prior to Board meetings.
-Complete reference checks prior to interview dates
-Perform other duties as required
-Degree or certificate in Business Administration or in the Human Resource field
-Knowledge of the Montreal Lake Cree Nation culture and language, political and social objectives
-A strong commitment to personal wellness
-Willingness to work when required on evenings and weekends
-Ability to speak Cree would be an asset
