As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for installing line equipment and responding to technical difficulties including outages from the outside cable plant. You will work with our provincial Maintenance Team to monitor the plants technical operations and preform preventative maintenance to ensure quality of service.
Main Duties will include:
- Responding to and analyzing plant problems, including power and 2-way plant outages as well as preforming analysis of equipment performance
- Conducting preventative maintenance on the cable plant and fibre plant according to Industry Canada and Company standards
- Troubleshooting repairs of complicated customer service issues
- Splicing and repairing fibre optic cable for the distribution system
- Performing general equipment maintenance, ensuring that your vehicle and tools are kept in working order
Hours of work will include non-standard hours including days, evenings and weekends and being on call on a rotating basis with other team members.
While this position will be based out of Saskatoon, regular travel will be required across Saskatchewan as needed, which may require overnight stays.
Candidate Qualifications:
- Safety Conscientious individual, as we are a Mission Zero Cooperative
- Minimum Grade 12 education and an Electronics Certificate (or equivalent) with 5 years of experience in a Maintenance role
- Class 5 Drivers License
- Excellent concentration abilities, accuracy and attention to detail are required
- Good organizational, documentation, and reporting skills
- Must be knowledgeable in the operation of hand power tools
- Ability to perform physical demands of the job: lifting an 80 pound ladder, climbing ladders, operation of a bucket truck, working in confined spaces, frequent moderate to heavy lifting and physical labour such as digging as well as working outside in all elements
