POSITION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Elder advisor you will be responsible for bringing forward employee and contractor questions and concerns to site human resources. This includes listening and providing guidance, as well as job shadowing employees in their daily activities, while maintaining confidentiality.
You will assist in planning and promoting emotional, spiritual and physical activities to increase the overall well being and cultural understanding of site employees and contractors. You will also support Camecos corporate responsibility team and represent Cigar Lake in northern community meetings and visits, communicating information on mine site activities.
As a respected Elder from the Athabasca region of northern Saskatchewan, you will demonstrate Camecos values of safety and environment, people, integrity and excellence in your daily activities.
Education and Qualifications
Requirements of the position:
Resident of an Athabasca Basin community, in line with the YaThi Nn Collaboration Agreement
Two to three years of leadership experience in community roles such as Elder or councillor
Knowledge of the Dene culture and traditional lifestyle
Fluent in English and Dene
Work a flexible schedule (approximately four days per month) and commute to site by aircraft
Assets:
Mine site or industrial work experience
