Under the direction of the Area Program Manager, the CISW will provide a holistic approach to the well-being of the child, the family and community. Based on the culture, traditions and practices involving Elders Child First Committees along the continuum of care for children and to assess and plan for cultural and professional interventions with families. This position will be located on the Sakimay First Nation. The CISW will provide early intervention for at risk families and ensure children are safe by providing access to a range of developmental services for children and families.
Qualifications:
Must possess a Bachelor of Social work degree OR Certificate in Social Work (CSW/CISW)
Current Criminal Record Check incl. Vulnerable Sector Check ad Child Abuse Clearance
Current and certified prohibited drug test
Valid Class 5 SK Drivers License and own a reliable vehicle.
Requirements: Knowledge and understanding of the FSIN Child Welfare Support Act, the Child and Family Services act of Saskatchewan, INAC Child and Family Services program Directive 20-1 and the INAC Saskatchewan Region Child Care Policy. Knowledge of Cree, Saulteaux, Nakota, Dakota Culture and language as well as the political and social objectives of the member first nations. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to apply and utilize case management tools and methodologies
Must be organized, punctual, dependable, ensuring confidentiality
Ability to utilize computer software and hardware Ability to make decisions using sound judgement in difficult/ ambiguous situations
Demonstrated organizational and time management
Able to work some evenings and weekends
