Description

Applications are invited for the position of Journeyman Mechanic at our Tisdale location with duties to commence as soon as possible.

Duties:
The Journeyman Mechanic shall perform such duties and responsibilities as may be assigned including but not restricted to the following:
Safety and repair buses to the SGI standard.
Assist in maintaining the shop and grounds to be clean and safe.
Do inventory of stock as required and recommend parts required for ordering.
Keep equipment up-to-date to maintain buses and fleet vehicles.
Handle all maintenance concerns regarding safe operation of buses or division vehicles.

Required Education, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:
A Grade 12 diploma from a provincially recognized institution or equivalent.
Valid class 5 Driver's License.
A clean Criminal Record Check and Drivers Abstract.
A Journeyman Mechanic certification or equivalent experience in the automotive service industry would be an asset.
Related training such as courses in first aid, defensive driving, or heavy equipment operation would be considered an asset.
Previous experience in the operation of a school bus would be considered an asset.
Knowledge of highway and school bus legislation and regulations would be considered an asset.
Current certification with SGI, applicable for school buses would be an asset.
Experience in computer diagnosis would be considered an asset.
Knowledge of equipment cleaning standards and procedures.
