Description

The Executive Director is accountable for organizational performance and exercises all authority transmitted into the organization by the board. The Executive Director shall be responsible for performance of all aspects of the business.
Areas of responsibility:
-Implementation of the Boards policies on Mission and Goals
-Managing operation of the organization based on policies as set forth by the Board
-Managing 4 subcommittees
-Management of staff and volunteers
-Financial Management of Organization
-Managing administrative aspects of the program
-Developing, in conjunction with the board, appropriate Nipawin Business District Revitalization Strategies
-Assisting business and property owners with business and property improvement projects.
Encouraging a cooperative climate with other BID or community organizations.  
-Helping to build productive relationships with appropriate public entities.  
-Developing and maintaining a data system to track the progress of the local program.
-Serving as an advocate for the business districts issues at local and provincial level.  
-Working toward developing skills as a business improvement management professional.
-Record-keeping and accounting
-Budget development
-Purchasing
-Filing legal documents
-Supervising other regular or contractual employees.

Skills required:

-Knowledge of leadership and management principles as they relate to non-profit/ voluntary organizations
-Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations including: employment standards, human rights, occupational health and safety, charities, taxation, CPP, EI, health coverage etc
-Knowledge of current community challenges and opportunities relating to the mission of the organization
-Knowledge of human resources management, financial management & Project Management
