Job Description
This role is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to drive and optimize operational performance in a fast paced work environment; supervises the daily and weekly activities that occur within the CP intermodal terminal at Regina IMS; provides leadership, motivation, training and participates in continuous improvement and process optimization activities as part of the side management team. The operations supervisor is a process orientated individual that has to understand business needs and use different software tools to control operations, enhance work efficiency and ensure companies policies are followed.
Duties and Responsibilities
-Evaluate ways to reduce operating cost without impairing overall operations
-Monitor site wide operations and resolve technical problems
-Provide regular feedbacks and attend weekly meetings with the client
-Conduct job briefings and ensure that all understand the scope of what is to be accomplished, procedural steps, roles and responsibilities
-Collect data and perform statistical analysis to identify critical operating parameters
-Facilitate the necessary daily activities to ensure a safe and secure work environment
-Optimize process variables and ensure smooth and stable operations
-Manage chemical spills handling and eliminate workplace hazards
-Build trains according to railroad guidelines and ensure no draft force violations
-Plan and manage the daily workload and staffing to minimize operating cost
