Description

Spare drivers fill in when permanent drivers are unable to run their routes, and also have frequent opportunities to drive for school sports, field trips and other school charter trips.Becoming a spare driver is also a great way to gain experience and become eligible for permanent routes as vacancies arise.  Bus drivers can feel good every day about providing a service essential to the children and youth in rural Saskatchewan.  Our bus drivers work in a supportive work environment, driving modern buses equipped with up to date safety technology.

The preferred applicants will possess school bus driving experience, demonstrate safe driving practices, and have strong interpersonal and communication skills.  However, free training is provided to suitable applicants who do not yet possess their school bus endorsement.  Drivers may take their young children on the bus with them.

Student Safety is of the utmost importance to us, and therefore the successful candidate will possess a clean Drivers Abstract, with no major infractions.  A current Drivers Abstract from SGI detailing all (personal and commercial) driving records for the last 5 years must be submitted with your application to be considered as an eligible candidate. You can provide a copy of the abstract by uploading onto your online application, emailing to transportation@pvsd.ca or faxing to 306-543-1771.

All successful candidates hired as a Bus Driver with PVSD wil be required to have First Aid Training.  Candidates who do not currently have First Aid training will be sent to training once hired, to be paid for by Prairie Valley School Division.

School Bus Drivers in Prairie Valley School Division earn a competitive salary, participate in an employer-paid group benefits plan and contribute to the pension plan.  Prairie Valley School Division supports the principles of a representative workforce and welcomes applications from all qualified candidates.
