Description

The Society for the Involvement of Good Neighbors (SIGN) in partnership with the Sunrise Health Region (SHR) is seeking an Outreach Social Worker to work within the Sunrise Health Region's HIV Strategy and to support individual client needs. The Outreach Social Worker will work collaboratively with the SHR's HIV Coordinator and other community partners and also participate in engagement and education throughout the communities.

The successful candidate should have the Education and Professional Experiences of:
-    A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work and active registration in the Province of Saskatchewan
-    A minimum of two (2) years' experience working with marginalized populations in a health/community-related field
-    Valid driver's license and access to a personal motor vehicle for transportation
-    A Criminal Records Check and Vulnerable Sector Check from RCMP


And the assets and abilities, inclusive of (but not limited to):
-    Health education background preferred, especially in the areas of mental health/addictions, sexual health, blood-borne infections (HIV/AIDS and hepatitis C);
-    Knowledge of Addictions, Mental Health, STIs, HIV/AIDS, hepatitis C and systemic issues;
-    Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team setting;
-    Commitment to and knowledge of community based health care;
-    Good communication and interpersonal skills;
-    Experience with computers and keyboarding, including proficiency in MS Office.
-    The knowledge and respect of various cultural values and practices.
