Description

Under the direction of the Manager, Settlement Family Support, you will receive and provide initial settlement services to refugees. Assist immigrants and refugees to become independent and self-sufficient by providing Information, Orientation and Community Connection and settlement counseling services. The position is frequently expected to provide service in clients first language or a common language other than English.

**ARABIC is an asset.

**Some evenings and weekends work may be required.

**NARS: Needs Assessment, Referral and Support.

**Candidates under consideration will be required to participate in an assessment process consisting of any/all of the following: interview, abilities test, case study and/or presentation.

**Education and Experience:
-Bachelors degree in social work, education or psychology and, one year of work experience providing counselling services, OR,
-Post secondary education in the social sciences, humanities or adult education, and, two years work experience providing counselling services, OR,
-An equivalent combination of directly related training and experience.
-Training in life skills counselling not mandatory but an asset.

**Required Licenses and/or Certificates:
-Canadian Police Information Center (CPIC) certification including Vulnerable Sector Search with no criminal record (done within last three months).

**Preferred Certificates:
-Holds a valid Saskatchewan Drivers license and access to a car for work purposes.
