Description

Brandt Engineered Products Ltd is currently seeking a Shop Manager (Fabrication) in our new Saskatoon facility. Some responsibilities of the position include:

    Recommend and implement the best plant layout
    Continued focus and support on Brandts formal quality program, Lean and other programs aimed at Continuous Improvement
    Review manufacturing methods and implement cost saving opportunities.
    Develop and maintain Project Management practices
    Recommend capital expenditures based on payback analysis
    Develop and maintain paint, prep and fabrication procedures
    Work with the Operations Manager to identify process changes
    Develop and meet annual budget and goals for paint, prep and fabrication
    Effectively manage the paint, prep and fabrication department to ensure we are producing a high quality product at the lowest possible cost
    Develop and implement a plan to ensure success for each job/project before it is in process through paint, prep and fabrication

Qualifications:

    10 years working in the Steel business
    Lean manufacturing training and experience
    Sound understanding of business practices
    Prior management experience is an asset
    Sound leadership, staff management, and teambuilding skills
    Understanding of work flow and constraints theories
    High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability
    Able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines
    Must be highly motivated, possess excellent communication skills and able to lead by example
    Knowledge of Industrial Equipment
    Experience in a high mix low volume manufacturing environment.
