The Desktop Support team provides second level support, maintenance, and planning for the desktop and notebook environment, as well as resourcing for ongoing projects. The infrastructure is currently based on Windows 7, Microsoft Office 2010, and Lotus Notes 8.5. A Desktop Refresh program has been initiated to roll out Windows 10.
This team supports 700 iPhones, 600 desktops, 400 notebook computers and about 250 semi-rugged notebooks in our mobile workforce environment and consists of multi-vendor contract resources operating in a pool concept where resources are utilized across varying projects and operational areas based on skills and abilities, with a goal of providing the most efficient and effective support to the business.
Horizon is looking for a proven Desktop Analysts to work in a Tier II support environment; however there will also be a requirement to work providing research and recommendations on technical solutions and delivery. The Desktop Analyst must be able to perform in a team environment with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Candidates are strongly encouraged to provide specific and qualitative information of other areas where their expertise can add value to our team and make our projects as successful as possible. This resource will be required to occasionally travel across the province.
