Description

Reports to:  YTU Coordinator
Based at:  J.O.E.Y.s & Community
Hours: 15-30 hours/week. 3-month probation and review.  
Flexible hours  Afternoons and evenings.

Job Purpose: You will be serving and mentoring youth involved with the Youth Transition Unit (YTU) and Street Culture at different levels. Mentoring includes planning and implementing one-on-one activities and programs that may be educational, recreational with a heavy focus on life skill building and connecting youth to resources.   The needs will vary between youth.  The focus will be on completing benchmarks and workbook activities.  Individuals interested will be able to successfully work one-on-one with youth as well as in a group setting facilitating life skill workshops.

Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  
-Positive and trusting relationship development with youth
-Support case management plan created with the youth
-Provide individual programming to youth
-Work with youth to meet individual needs; connect youth to community resources
-Create and implement individual programming with Coordinator
-Daily reports on programming experiences and youth progress
-Incident Reporting and informing workers where necessary
-School and home visits and support where needed
-Provide positive role-modeling, mentoring, and relationship-based programming
-Supporting the youth to become involved in education/ employment
