Description

Moose Jaw Co-op is seeking a dynamic individual who demonstrates strong leadership and customer service skills with a proven track record in the retail food industry.  The successful candidate for this position will embrace the positive values, possibilities and evolution of this challenging and rewarding career. Reporting to the General Manager, the Food Store Manager demonstrates and leads the food store with day-to-day behaviors and actions that align with and strengthen the Moose Jaw Co-ops values, mission and vision.  This position requires strong technical knowledge and experience in food store operations and marketing, high standards in merchandising and customer service, and the ability to organize and lead a team toward common goals.  
Responsibilities:
Develop business strategies that support our retail goals and guiding statements.
Organize, direct and co-ordinate the operations of the food store while achieving budgeted goals.
To direct the preparation of sales and promotional events.
Requires knowledge of commodity sales, gross margin and inventory management.
Provide superior leadership through coaching, development, management of performance, and feedback to team members to ensure that they provide exceptional customer service and technical advice to our guests.
Lead a culture of safety through adherence to company standards for Health & Safety, Loss Prevention and Environmental Due Diligence.
The successful candidate must demonstrate effective team leadership skills and have the ability to work well within a multi-generational, highly motivated team.  We are looking for an individual with strong communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as, excellent organizational skills. This position requires an individual with a strong retail food management background.  A degree or certificate applicable to the position is an asset, however, not a requirement.
