Job Description:
The Tow Truck Operator performs emergency road service, towing, accident recovery, and abandoned vehicle recovery utilizing assigned truck and towing equipment correctly as trained. They are to present a professional self-image and Company image through excellent service, safe operation, and timeliness to the customer. This position also includes maintaining the truck and equipment in compliance with Melody Motors and Melfort Towing & Recovery guidelines. All work is to have all necessary supporting documentation completed correctly and in a timely manner according to procedures in effect. This position is eligible to be a committee member of the OH&S Committee.
Required Education, Skills, & Experience:
Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
One (1)-Three (3) months related experience and training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience an asset.
WHMIS 1988 & WHMIS 2015 required.
Valid drivers license required.
Must pass drug test and background check.
Possesses a clean driving record, including no more than one preventable accident or two moving violations within three consecutive years.
Basic computer skills.
Possesses CAA Certification or willing to attain the certificate within a designated amount of time.
Working Conditions:
CSA Approved hard-toe shoes required.
Driving a vehicle; includes sitting in a vehicle for extended periods of time.
Utilizing physical and manual dexterity, including lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted.
Repetitive motion (ie: lifting, twisting, bending, etc.)
Using equipment consistent with industry standards.
*Must live in Melfort or be willing to relocate*
While all requirements stated are strived for, Melfort Towing & Recovery is looking for staff that fit with the company. Skills are trainable, personality is brought to the position. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
