Greystone Managed Investments Inc. seeks a Controller to join our Corporate Accounting team for a 16-month term. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this position is overall accountable for maintaining the accounting records of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Overseeing the accounting staff which includes the accounts payable and receivable functions
Manage the general accounting function specifically, reporting, month-end and quarter-end transactions
Generation, validation and distribution of client billings
Plan and prepare quarterly and annual financial statements
Complete regulatory reporting requirements
Cash management and budgeting
Review and analyze actual results, monthly forecasts and annual budgets for all departments and business units where applicable
Work directly with senior management on financial analysis
Internal and external quarterly reporting
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to adapt to a fast paced and constantly changing business environment;
Thrive on detail, be meticulously accurate, well organized and a self-starter;
Personal computing talent, a good working knowledge of accounting and spreadsheet software and advanced Excel experience;
Excellent communication skills, both orally and written;
Team orientation -- ability to work cooperatively with peers and demonstrate leadership skills; and
Exceptional personal integrity, highly professional and credible, with strong ethics and values.
The successful candidate will hold a CPA accounting designation or be working towards a designation and have more than 5 years of related accounting experience, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, statement compilation and financial reporting systems. While not a requirement, experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) would be beneficial.
