The Prince Albert Grand Council is now accepting applications for the full time permanent position for a Registered Dietitian with the PAGC Diabetes Education and Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program. This position will be based out of Prince Albert and will require travel to PAGC First Nation communities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent and completion of Dietitians of Canada accredited dietetic internship
- Registration or eligible for membership with the Saskatchewan Dietetics Association and Dietitians of Canada
- An excellent understanding of:
- Diabetes self care, medications and management
- Prenatal nutrition and infant feeding
- Nutrition needs throughout the lifespan
- Ability to:
- Plan, implement and evaluate new and existing programs
- Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team setting
- Effectively manage contribution agreement funding and program budgets
- Identifies health education needs of clients, families, and communities in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, leadership and community
- Ability to work independently and be self-directed, while integrating direction and guidance from supervisory team
- Accurately complete program reports in a timely manner
- Must demonstrate:
- Excellent communication, assessment, organizational and problem solving skills
- An understanding of the principles of patient self management and community development
- A commitment to modeling healthy lifestyle behaviours
- Cultural competency skills
- Knowledge of population health approach to health promotions and prevention
- Security Clearance
- Valid Class 5 Sask. driver's license and flexibility to travel required
Assets:
- Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE)
- Ability to speak Cree, Dene or Dakota
- Previous experience working with First Nations communities
