Under the supervision of the CEO, the Director of Communication has a primary responsibility of planning, implementing and supporting YWCA Regina Marketing and Communication plan. The Director of Communication also maintains a high level of understanding on the issues facing the sector and works with other community organizations where promotion and public awareness is of mutual benefit.
Responsibilities include:
Public Relations / Communications: The Director of Communication will work with the YWCA leadership team to develop a comprehensive communication strategy which may include branding and image design. The Director of Communication will be responsible for the development of social media platforms and plans as well as coordinate website redesign. In addition, the Director of Communication will create communication standard policies and guidelines.
Leadership: The Director of Communication will work with department Directors to ensure they are informed of current needs and trends. In addition, the Director of Communication will ensure that staff, board and volunteers are kept informed on the current political and community situations. The Director of Communication will plan and deliver communication standards workshops for other members of the leadership team as well as ensure that policies and guidelines are being met.
