Our Lloydminster drafting department is actively recruiting for a full-time CAD Drafting Technician.
Lloydminster The Border City is unique as it lies on the border of Alberta and Saskatchewan, straddling the Fourth Meridian. With a population of over 30,000, it lies 250 kilometers East of Edmonton on Hwy #16 (4 lane), 275 kilometers West of Saskatoon (mostly 4 lane) and is within an hours drive of prime sight-seeing, camping, fishing and hunting territory. Lloydminster shows very strong growth with a modern Hospital, many new schools, shopping centers and businesses. Lloydminster has all the amenities of a larger city without the metropolis feel, lengthy commutes and costly housing.
Position Details:
In this role, you will be responsible to create plans using CAD and coordinate geometry software on Windows platform stations. Your duties will include and are not limited to:
Producing all drafting products;
Understanding and producing base file mapping and composite plans;
Identifying and managing survey errors in the CAD environment while interacting with technicians and land surveyors;
Understanding survey plan content, identifying and evaluating proper evidence descriptions;
Understanding layers, line types and individual client requirements
Qualifications:
A diploma in CAD Drafting or Engineering Design and Drafting with experience in surveying, oil and gas and the municipal drafting industry is preferred. You must have working knowledge of AutoCAD Map and/or Civil, the survey industry and township system. The successful candidate must also be able to produce accurate and detailed plans and demonstrate exceptional organizational and attention to detail skills.
