March Consulting provides engineering, procurement & construction management services to Canada's mining industry. Our projects run the spectrum from capital cost estimates & feasibility studies, to turnkey EPCM mine expansions & asset integrity work.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Lead a team of electrical & power system engineers
- Conduct research into the feasibility, design, operation & performance of electrical generation & distribution networks, electrical machinery & components.
- Perform power systems design & analysis, including electrical equipment evaluation, short circuit analysis & load flow analysis
- Supervise & inspect the installation, modification, testing & operation of electrical & electronic systems & equipment
- Prepare material cost & timing estimates, reports & design specifications for electrical & electronic systems & equipment
- Manage & plan various aspects of a project & design electrical systems in coordination with other major engineering disciplines
- Develop specifications, maintenance & operating standards for electrical & electronic systems & equipment
- Investigate electrical or electronic failures
- Prepare contract documents & evaluate tenders for construction or maintenance
- High voltage experience will be considered as an asset
- Knowledge of controls using DCS graphics, PLC programming language & HMI (Human Machine Interface) configuration would be an asset
The successful candidate will have:
- At least 6-8 years of power systems engineering experience in both design & field
- Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) designation from APEGS or another province.
- Experience working in the consulting field, especially in the mining sector &, more specifically, potash mining, would be considered an asset.
- Site experience & heavy industrial exposure would also be an asset for this position
