Duties and responsibilities:
- Works collaboratively with job seekers to develop and activate an individualized employment based action plan.
- Arranges, delivers and supports client engagement in services that will enhance employment capacity.
- Develops and coordinates individualized work experience placements including workplace tours and job shadows, and liaise with employers to outline opportunities that reflect the goals and action items within each individuals plan.
- Initiates, builds and maintains positive relationships with business owners, human resource professionals, union leaders, representatives, and hiring managers in order to present clients as potential employees.
- Promotes to employers the benefits of job coaching, job carving, and job accommodations and specific client support strategies that will encourage a smooth entry into an employers workplace.
- Provide on-site supports for work experiences to ensure they are beneficial to clients and employers.
- Initiates and maintain positive communications with clients team members, referring agents, and other supports.
- Monitors and documents client progress during work experience placements, including skill attainment and goal achievement, and negotiates employment opportunities where appropriate.
Qualifications:
- Relevant post-secondary education in Human Services or Marketing two years experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of issues pertaining to training and employment that people with disabilities may encounter, including supported employment models.
- Valid Class 5 Drivers Licence and reliable vehicle.
- Experience with, and understanding of, Job Finding Club.
